Prairie State is pleased to welcome Madi McKenzie as the Mine Maintenance Intern this summer!
Madi will return for her senior year this fall at Missouri S&T. There, she studies mechanical engineering. She is also involved in Kappa Delta, MST Cheer Team, and the National Panhellenic Council. Madi has been a teaching assistant for about a year now for a machining lab on campus. In past summers, she has also done STEM mentoring. In her free time, Madi likes to spend time with her dog.
Madi chose Prairie State because she thought it would be good to get out of her comfort zone and learn a little about the mining industry. She also thinks it is a cool experience to be in the mine. When asked about her goals for the summer, she said, “I am looking forward to meeting new people and learning more about the industry.”
After her internship, Madi would like to graduate as soon as she can and begin her career.
