Meet the Intern: Miranda Brockmeyer

Prairie State is excited to welcome Miranda Brockmeyer as an Electric I/C Maintenance Intern this summer!

Miranda will begin her junior year of studies this fall at Missouri S&T, where she majors in electrical engineering. She enjoys math, so she thought this math-heavy degree program would be a great fit for her.

At S&T, Miranda participates in Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). She previously served customers at Kennelwood Pet Resort; her favorite part of the job was playing with the dogs when she had a spare moment. Miranda has a dog of her own named Lucy, along with two parakeets named Poppy and Katniss, and two cats named Rascal and Princess.

Miranda chose Prairie State due to her special interest in the power industry. She also appreciates the company’s commitment to sustainability. She is ready for her experience this summer, and said, “I am looking forward to getting hands on experience. I’m ready to get out of the classroom and see how the real world operates.”

Miranda’s future goal is to graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in mathematics. She hopes to work with renewable energy in the future.
