Prairie State is pleased to welcome Joe Medley as the Analytics & Insights Intern this summer!
Joe will return to the University of Illinois (U of I) this fall for his senior year. He chose to study data science because he enjoys computer science and working with data. At U of I, Joe is involved in the Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity and the Interfraternity Council.
Joe’s past work experience includes an internship at Spectrum in business intelligence analysis. He also bartends part-time at Joe’s Brewery when he is at college. A fun fact about Joe is that he can squat 405 pounds.
Joe chose Prairie State after hearing about the company from two of his friends who are past interns. They shared that their intern experience was interesting and positive, and they complimented employees for their kindness.
This summer, Joe says he is looking forward to gaining experience working with Power BI and reporting. He also said, “I am enjoying learning about the plant and how it works, along with the work management side of things. I hope to also improve my communication and life skills as I ready myself for a full-time career after college.”
After graduation, Joe plans to work in data science/analytics. After gaining a few years of experience, he is considering completing a master’s degree.
