Meet the Intern: Colton Krebs

Prairie State is excited to welcome Colton Krebs as the Information Technology Intern this summer!

Colton currently studies management information systems at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). Here, he is involved in the Association of Information Systems, Student Veterans of America, and the SIUE Chess Club.

Colton served in the United States Navy as a Gunner’s Mate. He was responsible for the operation and maintenance of guided missile launching systems, gun mounts, and other ordnance equipment, as well as small arms and magazines onboard USS Chancellorsville (CG-62). Colton enjoys traveling and has visited 15 countries outside of the United States; these include Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic.

Prairie State interested Colton because he sees it as an exceptional opportunity to advance his career while acquiring new knowledge and skills in the IT field. He is looking forward to gaining hands-on experience and applying the theoretical knowledge he has acquired in a real-world setting. He says, “I am eager to collaborate with seasoned professionals, learn from their expertise, and contribute to meaningful projects.”

Colton will return to SIUE this fall for his senior year. He then looks to pursue a master’s in management information systems.
