Prairie State is pleased to welcome Cole Dickerson as the Information Technology Intern this summer!
Cole currently attends Missouri State University, where he studies cybersecurity. He chose this career path because he has had an interest in computers since an early age. “I like working with computers, and being in the information technology position would be a great first step into the cybersecurity world.”
At Missouri State University Cole is a part of the Delta Chi Fraternity. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, playing video games, and hanging out with friends. Cole’s past work experience includes being busser for Joe Boccardi’s Italian restaurant for four years and working at the YMCA for two years.
The internship is a great experience for Cole. He says, “I saw the application and thought it would make a great fit, since I know the area well due to my dad previously working in Marissa. This position will help broaden my scope of knowledge by being able to see professionals work in the information technology industry. Everybody here knows a lot about this career, and it is going to help me be a sponge and absorb knowledge.”
With his time at Prairie State, Cole would like to gain a greater understanding of the company, leave his mark with his work, and show why he was hired. Once the summer is over, he will return to Missouri State for his senior year to finish his bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity. After college, he plans to pursue a career in cybersecurity or information technology.
