Meet the Intern: Bo Bryan

Prairie State is pleased to welcome Bo Bryan as the Mine Engineering Intern this summer!

Bo attends the Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T). He studies mining engineering, a field he entered after an S&T summer camp focused on explosive engineering. At S&T, Bo is involved in various clubs including ISEE (International Society of Explosive Engineers), Mucking, WiM (Women in Mining), and SME (Society of Mining Metallurgy and Exploration).

Bo previously worked at Buckley Powder Company as a blaster’s hand/laborer. He discovered Prairie State at an S&T career fair, where he spoke to employee Dan Meier and was encouraged to look into our internship program. Bo says, “I am looking forward to learning as much as possible from every area in coal mining.”

He will return to S&T this fall for his sophomore year. His future plans include graduating with a bachelor’s in mining engineering with minors in explosives and geology.
