Prairie State is excited to welcome Blake Vogt as our Mine Engineering Intern this summer.
Blake is originally from Danville, Kentucky. He is attending the University of Kentucky, majoring in mining engineering. This fall, he will return for his junior year. He chose mining engineering because he could see himself enjoying a career in the field.
When asked why he chose Prairie State, Blake said, “This is a good company who cares about the surrounding community. They also have high environmental and safety standards.”
Blake is looking forward to gauging his interests this summer and determining if he enjoys this sector of mining. After he graduates, he hopes to find a job in a sector and location that he enjoys.
