Prairie State is pleased to welcome Tyler Schulein as the Accounting/Finance Intern this summer!
Tyler currently attends Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), where he studies accounting. He chose this career field because he grew up watching his mom do similar work. He states, “I know it is something I can do and enjoy.” While at SEMO, Tyler is a part of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the Accounting Honor Society of Beta Alpha Psi.
Tyler’s past work experience includes working at the First National Bank of Sparta as a bank teller. Prior to that, he worked at Aunt Nette’s Kettle Corn in Sparta. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and hanging out with friends.
When asked how this internship will benefit him, he states, “This experience will help me decide if I should go into managerial accounting or public accounting. I will also be able to learn all the ins and outs of the finance department. From that, I can get a good look and idea of what each person does and learn from them.”
Tyler will be going into his junior year at Southeast Missouri State University and eventually complete his bachelor’s degree in accounting. After college, Tyler hopes to get into a master’s program, complete his certifications, and find a job suitable for a few years until he can attend law school.
