Prairie State is excited to welcome Madisyn Wienstroer as the Communications Intern for the summer!
Madisyn is from Okawville, Illinois, and is currently pursuing a degree in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communications and a minor in business. She will be entering her junior year this fall at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She chose this career path because it allows her to be creative and work with other people. Madisyn said, “The best part of this career is the way it keeps me engaged, creative, and connected to so many different professions, making each day different.”
Madisyn is returning to Prairie State this summer to resume her role as the Communications Intern. “I am so excited to be back this summer! My goal is to improve on the work I did last summer and continue growing within my position. This has truly been such a great opportunity, and I have learned so much about myself and this career with my time here,” she shared.
Throughout the first weeks of her internship, Madisyn has been working on creating graphics for upcoming events and holidays, interviewing her fellow interns and writing “Meet the Intern” articles, and helping her supervisor with preparing for the upcoming Employee Golf Outing. “I love the work I get to do here, and I am excited to see my skillset continue to improve. I know I have so much opportunity to learn within my position which is what made me want to come back,” she said.
While at Mizzou, Madisyn is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and holds a position as Digital Marketing Specialist. She is also a Strategic Communications Intern for Mizzou Athletics during the school year, the Communications Officer for Women in Media, a member of Matchbook Marketing, and works part-time at the MizzouRec as a Sports & Competition Frontline worker. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, traveling, playing intramural sports, and spending time with family.
By the end of the internship, Madisyn’s goal is to become efficient in using Adobe extensions, continue growing in her creativity, and improve her leadership abilities.
We’re excited to have Madisyn back this summer and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes during her internship experience!
