Prairie State is excited to welcome Tim Richardson as our Plant Maintenance Intern this summer.
Tim is originally from Belleville, Illinois. He recently graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Industrial Technologies. He chose this path because of his interest in mechanics, design, and problem solving.
Tim has previous work experience as the Maintenance Intern at Red Bud Industries, where he performed facility and mechanical maintenance. His hobbies include kayaking, hiking, woodworking, and playing sports.
Of his reason for choosing Prairie State, Tim said, “In the past, I had performed maintenance in a manufacturing setting, and I felt that it would be valuable for me to perform maintenance in a production setting. Here at Prairie State, my father is a plant operator. I have had several plant tours, which have allowed me to gain an appreciation for the company and their stance on safety.”
This summer, Tim is looking forward to making connections and gaining a better understanding of how maintenance is performed in a production setting. His hope for the future is to find full-time employment in a maintenance position, preferably related to his interests of reliability and root cause analysis.
