Meet the Intern: Linda Lee

Prairie State Generating Company is excited to welcome Linda Lee as the plant safety intern for the summer of 2018.

From Taiwan, Lee currently attends Murray State University.  She has finished her first semester in the Master’s Program in Occupational Health and Safety.  Lee is a student member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

This is Lee’s second year at Prairie State as plant safety intern.  She returned because her experience last summer fit well with her education, and it made her classes easier to understand.  “I am surprised that everyone remembered me.  It will be nice to be involved in more detail this summer.”

Her summer will consist of completing the Chemical Spill Project that she started last summer.  These guidelines will be used at the plant safety training in July.  She will also be more involved in committee meetings for confined space, plant safety, and the VPP.  “I am happy that I can give my input at these meetings after having learned so much.”

After completing this internship, Lee will return to Murray State for one year, where she will finish her Master’s degree.  In the future, she would like to get hired full-time at Prairie State.
