Prairie State is pleased to welcome Kaelyn Schoenherr as one of our Training and Learning Development Interns this summer.
Kaelyn is from Lively Grove, Illinois, and she currently attends Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. Her major is mass communications, and she will be entering her final semester this fall. Kaelyn has always enjoyed communicating with others, and she prefers the social media and design aspects of communications. In the past, Kaelyn has worked at the Dollar Tree in Sparta and at Schoenherr construction.
Kaelyn has always been interested in Prairie State. Since she lives so close, she was able to see the plant being built. After hearing about the Prairie State internship program at a career fair, Kaelyn knew she wanted to apply.
She is looking forward to learning how to better communicate with employees over a different platform and help them learn in different ways. Kaelyn is working on updating training videos, which interests her. “While I don’t know about the topics through my studies, I get to learn all about them through creating these videos.”
Kaelyn will graduate in December. She is looking forward to pursuing a career in mass communications. Though communications is a very broad field, Kaelyn enjoys the corporate track, and she would like to apply her knowledge to a career in that field.
