Prairie State Generating Company is pleased to welcome Dillon Ostendorf as the facilities intern for the summer of 2018.
Ostendorf is from O’Fallon, IL. He graduated from Ranken Technical College this May with a degree in industrial technology. When asked why this major appealed to him, he said, “I don’t like to sit in an office. I prefer to be outside when working.” In the past, Ostendorf has worked for the city of New Athens; for three years he completed public work, such as water line and road repairs.
This is Ostendorf’s second year in the intern program at Prairie State. He decided to return because of the staff and the work environment. “I like that my coworkers here never hesitate to help. Questions do not go unanswered.” He also appreciates that safety is the number one company value.
This summer, Ostendorf will be resolving work orders at all Prairie State facilities. He is excited to apply concepts he learned about in school to his work this summer.
Following this internship, he hopes to be hired full-time at Prairie State, but he will still look for other career opportunities in his field.
