Feeding Those In Need: Souper Bowl VII

Each year, Prairie State employees work together to provide food donations to the Marissa Food Pantry and the Okawville CHOW (Combating Hunger on Weekends) Program.

The Marissa Food Pantry serves the community by offering food to local families in need. The Okawville CHOW Program was established by parents who noticed children in the free and reduced lunch program were not receiving meals at home over the weekends. Through this program, 50 children in need receive a bag of ready-to-eat foods each Friday when they leave school.

This year, our employees held a friendly competition to encourage more donations. Each location had teams competing to collect the most food items. The winning teams were:

  • Corporate: SOUPer Stars
  • Mine: The Granola Gang
  • Plant: Souper Heroes

Great job to all who participated! We are thankful for the giving spirits of our employees.
