Prairie State is pleased to welcome Nathan Dawson as one of our Electrical Maintenance Interns this summer.
Nathan currently lives in St. Louis, but he is originally from Pittsburgh. He attends Ranken Technical College, where he is in his second year of studying control systems technologies. Nathan enjoys biking and hiking, and he volunteers at a men’s homeless shelter monthly.
The past two summers, Nathan was a Roadside Assistance Intern at Enterprise Fleet Management. He has also worked part-time at Starbucks for the past four years.
Nathan chose Prairie State because he is interested in electrical work that is large-scale rather than residential. He is looking forward to meeting new people and getting hands-on experience outside of a classroom. “This is different from anything I’m used to, and it’s fascinating to me. I feel that this internship will give me a greater sense of preparation for what to expect after graduation.”
Following this internship, Nathan will return to Ranken and graduate next spring. He will then look for work in St. Louis, or possibly return to Pittsburgh.
