Prairie State is pleased to welcome Blake Kreher as our Mechanical Maintenance Intern this summer.
Blake is from Freeburg, Illinois. He is currently an electromechanical engineering and technology major at Murray State University, and he will be entering his senior year this fall. Last summer, Blake worked at MAV Masonry and Ritefield lawn care, and he has previous experience at General Machine, Inc.
Growing up in Freeburg, Blake was close enough to see large trucks transporting the materials needed to build Prairie State. He has always been interested in construction, especially at a large scale, so an internship at Prairie State was the perfect fit for Blake.
This summer, Blake will get hands-on experience that he is hoping will expand his knowledge on the multiple engineering disciplines. “I am looking forward to gaining a good understanding of what goes on in a power plant.”
Blake will graduate next spring. He will be looking for a career in the power industry, possibly at Prairie State. Blake is also open to options out of state, and he will gain experience wherever he can.
