Intern Update: Andrew Jansen

Electrical Maintenance Intern, Andrew Jansen, has been gaining hands-on experience by working directly with machinery, performing repairs, conducting pre-checks, and replacing parts. Each day brings a variety of tasks and challenges across the plant.

His department receives work orders at the start of each day, after which the team develops a plan and heads out into the plant. “I like this position because I get to learn a little bit of everything in this department,” Andrew says. “I’ve learned the best practices for working with different types of machinery and how all the systems come together.”

Andrew’s internship has provided him with meaningful work experience and a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day. “Getting a new assignment every day keeps me busy and on my toes. I never know what to expect, and that’s what I enjoy most about the job,” he adds.

The internship has deepened Andrew’s appreciation for the electrical maintenance field and broadened his understanding of how various types of equipment operate in real-world settings. He’s learned the importance of giving his best effort and not being afraid to ask questions. Looking ahead, Andrew plans to continue pursuing a career in electrical maintenance.
