Public Power Week 2015
This week marks Public Power Week's 29th anniversary as a nationwide program to celebrate the importance of public power to local citizens and other key publics, including state and national officials. The American Public Power Association (APPA) sponsors Public Power Week.
Prairie State is proud to be public power owned and maintains the same principles as set forth by public power: to supply our owners and their members with reliable power that is produced in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Prairie State is celebrating Public Power Week along with the APPA and more than 2,000 other not-for-profit, community-owned electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 48 million Americans.
In honor of public power week, Prairie State and its employees encourage you to take the "energy pledge" and think of ways you can save energy at your home.
