IEA Executive Director Tour

On Saturday, July 18, Prairie State was honored to welcome the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Maria van der Hoeven, and her staff. Pictured above is PSGC CEO, Don Gaston, with Ms. van der Hoeven. The IEA toured the Prairie State Energy Campus while in the United States for a visit.

The IEA examines the full spectrum of energy issues and advocates policies that will enhance the reliability, affordability and sustainability of energy in its 29 member countries and beyond. The IEA's four main focus areas are energy security, economic development, environmental awareness, and engagement worldwide. The agency was founded in response to the 1973 oil crisis in order to help countries coordinate a collective response to major disruptions in oil supply through the release of emergency oil stocks to the markets.
