Plant Operator Selection System (POSS)

POSS is a set of test batteries that were developed and validated to aid in selecting power plant operators. POSS can be used to select candidates for operating jobs in fossil, nuclear or hydro power plants. The test takes about 2 hours to administer

Positions requiring a recommendation on the POSS test:
• Plant Operator
• Control Room Operator

Power Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (MASS)

MASS is a set of test batteries that can be used to select candidates for power plant maintenance positions in fossil, nuclear, and hydro plants. The total time to administer the MASS battery is approximately 2 hours. These tests can estimate candidates’ chances of success in the following categories of plant maintenance jobs:

Positions requiring a recommendation on the MASS test:
• Fuels and Materials Technician/Heavy Equipment Operators
• Mechanical Maintenance Technician

The POSS and MASS are administered as a combination test session and the entire session lasts about 2 hours.

Technician Occupations Selection System (TECH)
TECH is a battery of aptitude tests designed and validated to aid in the selection of candidates for electric utility industry technical occupations for an associate degree is normally required. The total time to administer the TECH battery is approximately 2 hours.

Positions requiring a recommendation on the TECH test:
• Electrical Maintenance
• Instruments and Controls
• Chemical/Water Treatment Technician
